The Tree Sprite

About

A real man respects his elders.

This is just one of the many rules Benjamin Riley Franklin has been expected to live by. It’s also the rule that will test him the most in the wake of his parents’ divorce. After moving to Indiana with his mom and younger sister, he is forced to live with and work for his abusive grandfather. Just when Ben’s anger and life begin to spiral out of control, he finds hope in an unexpected place:

Within the branches of a tree at the nearby park, where he meets a mysterious girl named Ren.

With the help of his new friend, Ben fights to define himself and break free from the shadow of his father’s disappointment. To complicate matters further, he and his family confront a painful and long-buried family secret.

The Tree Sprite is an inspiring coming-of-age novel supported by complex characters who will tug at the reader’s heart. It’s emotionally crafted to leave the reader not only rooting for Ben but also wondering who Ren is—and whether she’s real.

Author’s Note:
Let’s talk about content warnings for a moment.

It’s a topic that has passionate readers on both sides of the spectrum: some need them and others hate them for fear of spoilers. And, of course, there are those who fall somewhere in between.

While I write fiction, I try to pack each of my books with a strong emotional punch. Because of this, I’ve always respected that the topics in my books may be triggering for some. In hopes of finding a solution that will meet the needs of the entire spectrum of readers, a list of content warnings for each of my books can be found on my website:
